About The 1st Red sea youth diplomatic conference (#RSYDC2025).
The 1st Red Sea Youth Diplomatic Conference (#RSYDC2025) is a pioneering event aimed at empowering young leaders and aspiring diplomats. Scheduled for March 21-23, 2024, at the Skylight Hotel in Addis Ababa, this conference is organized by Uplift Initiative Ethiopia, a , and other partners. It will gather over 200 vibrant young leaders from the Red Sea region and beyond, serving as a pivotal nexus for fostering regional integration, cooperation, peace, security, and environmental protection.
The conference encourages young leaders to collaborate for the betterment of the future in this strategic region. It aligns with the African Union’s Agenda 2063 for regional integration and a prosperous Africa, as well as the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure), 13 (Climate Action), 14 (Life Below Water), 16 (Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions), and 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).
RSYDC2025 will promote actionable leadership qualities and provide a dynamic platform for dialogue on pressing regional affairs, directly related to both the AU Agenda 2063 and the UN SDGs. As the first-ever conference of its kind, it aims to be an annual event that initiates discussions among young leaders on various issues facing the region, considering its strategic and geopolitical significance.

Eligibility
The Red Sea Youth Diplomatic Conference welcomes young people aged 18-40 (inclusive) from the Red Sea region states and abroad. Applicants should meet the following criteria:
A) A strong interest in diplomacy, the Red Sea region’s situation, and international relations.
F) The RSYDC committee will determine final country allocation and council preferences.
N.B: RSYDC2025 is a self-funded youth conference. Delegates are expected to pay for their accommodation and conference packages. If you cannot get a sponsor or pay the registration fee, please do not apply.
